Inspired by the alphabet, Hilary Lewis works with all aspects of calligraphy and lettering and has always been interested in writing, formal scripts and patterns.

Hilary is a graduate of the Society of Scribes and Illuminators’ (SSI) Advanced Training Scheme, and the Calligraphy Correspondence Course and she holds the Calligraphy and Lettering Arts Society (CLAS) Intermediate Diploma which is the recognised standard for teaching calligraphy.

An English Literature degree at Worcester University was followed by an apprenticeship at ABC Typesetting where the spark was lit. Hilary underwent further post-graduate training from the London College of Communication and is still enjoys combining publishing with hand lettering today.
